B. WE WANT TO DISCUSS SOME THINGS THAT DON’T CHANGE.
A. PEOPLE HAVEN’T CHANGED. SAME LUSTS AND WEAKNESSES.
1. Same greed à Judas (John 12:1-6; Matt. 26:14-16; 1 Tim. 6:9-10).
2. Same desire for Power & Preeminence à Diotrophes (3 John 9; Matt. 23:5-12;
Matt. 20:20-21). Even the disciples.
3. Same fleshly lusts.
a. A nation of drunks (1 Cor. 6:9-10; 1 Pet. 4:3). Why do they call it DOPE?
b. Every thought of man (Gen. 6:5; Gal. 5:19-21; 2 Pet. 2:1-2, 17-19).
c. 1 John 2:15-17.
4. Same envy and hatred.
a. Joseph’s brethren.
b. Cain and Abel.
c. 1 John 3:11-12.
B. MAN STILL NEEDS.
1. Forgiveness and justification (Rom. 3:23; 6:23; Acts 2:38).
2. Spiritual guidance (Jer. 10:23; 2 Pet. 1:3; Titus 2:11-12; 2 Tim. 3:16-17).
3. Encouragment (Heb. 6:17-19; 1 Pet. 1:13; Phil. 4:4-7 è 1 Thess 5:14).
4. Sympathy and understanding (Heb. 2:18; 4:15).
5. The last enemy – VICTORY (John 5:28-29; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:54-57).
A. ETERNAL (Rev. 1:17-18; Heb. 7:25).
B. HIS WORD IS ETERNAL (Matt. 24:35).
1. Cannot be contradicted (Rom. 3:4).
2. It is true (2 Pet. 3:9; 2 Tim. 2:10-12).
3. Still leads (2 Tim. 3:16-17) and judges (John 12:48).
C. HIS PRESENCE IS STILL CERTIFIED (Phil. 4:4-5; Matt. 28:20).
D. STILL MAN’S ONLY SAVIOR (Acts 4:12; Heb. 5:8-9; Mark 16:16).
E. INVITATION IS STILL GOOD (Matt. 11:28-29).
A. WE ARE PRESENTED WITH AN UNCHANGING CHRIST.
B. AND AN UNCHANGEALBE GOSPEL (Jude 3; Acts 2:38).
C. AND AN UNCHANGING LOVE (John 3:16).
